Helambu Valley Trekking

Helambu valley trekking is a perfect for those who are short on time, or are looking for a different experience from the usual, more populous trekking routes.

Despite being so close to Kathmandu, the Helambu region remains unspoiled. It is renowned as a calm, peaceful and beautiful valley, with trails remaining blissfully quiet as you wind your way through cultivated terraces, Sherpa villages and mountain viewpoints. The highland villages of the Helambu region were originally the home to the Hyolmo people, from which the word Helambu derives. The Helambu region is well known for its apples and plentiful Buddhist monasteries. Not to mention majestic waterfalls, views of the snow capped Himalayan giants and stands of lush mountain forest.

Given its proximity to Kathmandu, the Helambu gives the trekker a real taste of rural Nepal, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The altitude on the Helambu trek remains low, so anyone concerned with altitude issues need not worry. The Helambu trek is an interesting option for those new to trekking, those with limited time, or for anyone who wants to see what real, rural Nepali village life is all about! You will come away delighted with your Helambu experience!
